I first got into crypto at the University of Hull in 2010 when my friend Jacky and I ironically bought a few bitcoin thinking of it as some kind of internet-joke-thing. We both got rid of it soon after, but while I totally forgot about it and focused on building a career in television, he kept an eye on the crypto scene and a few years later back home in Hong Kong, he made a small fortune investing in Ethereum. That showed me!

Today I am a staff writer on Africa's most successful political satire TV show, The Other News with Okey Bakassi and my writing has been featured in the New Yorker Magazine and the Washington Post, but crypto remains my first love. I am a busy crypto advocate in my spare time because I believe cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology are a key driver of Nigeria's technological transformation, contributing in no small measure to Africa's unique leapfrogging phenomenon.
