It appears that a small popular restaurant in Paris, France has started accepting hugely popular meme-based cryptocurrency Shiba Inu ($SHIB) as a means of payment.

As Cointelegraph reported on October 30, Le Bistrot d’Eleonore et Maxence, which is located in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, is currently displaying a sign on its entrance door that says “Shiba Inu accepted here.”

Evidence for this claim was provided on October 25 by one crypto fan on Twitter, whom Cointelegraph had identified as Natheno Davy (a local resident).

In an interview with Cointelegraph, Davy said he had asked a staff member at the restaurant to confirm that $SHIB was an official form of payment.

He said:

Precisely at that moment, a group of four men paid their lunch bill using Shiba Inu. It was magic!

Apparently, Davy returned to the restaurant with a group of friends and paid EUR €250 in $SHIB for the restaurant’s buffet. The group posted a video of the purchase to social media, which is said to have gone viral.

Davy told Cointelegraph:

The restaurant has now become the best in the area. Locals are expecting a wave of restaurants to start accepting cryptocurrencies as a payment method.

Davy claimed that he was a veteran crypto asset investor, but that $SHIB had been the best investment across his trading career.
