Venezuela’s president, Nicolas Maduro, announced the government has received more than 171,000 certified purchase orders for the Petro, the country’s expected cryptocurrency.
He further claimed that more than 3,500 companies placed bids for Petro tokens. The remaining 82,000 purchasers are individuals, according to Venezuela-based newsgroup teleSUR. The announcement reads:
“To date, we have received 171 thousand offers of intention of purchases certified for the Petro, 40.8% in USD, 6.5% in EUR, 18.4% in ETH, 33.8% in BTC, of which 3523 offers are from companies”

Almost every coin in the top 10 coins by 24 hour volume has showed a negative change, ranging from 0.45 to 7.15%, in the last 24 hours. The only top 10 coin that posted a gain was EOS (+2.02%), and is currently sitting at $8.57.
Bitcoin Cash ($1,222) recorded a loss of 4.39% and had a total volume of $260M in the last 24 hours. Huobi Token ($2.34) posted the biggest loss of 7.15%, while Ripple ($0.90) and NEO ($133) showed a negative change of 3.86% and 4.54% respectively. Tronix recorded a 0.45% loss, and is currently sitting at $0.041.

At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is sitting at $10,594 representing a loss of 1% in the last 24 hours. More than $1.1B worth of BTC were exchanged in the BTC/USD market representing a 24.6% share of global daily volume. The BTC/JPY pair represents the biggest pair with a 46.9% share.
ETH
The Ethereum price posted a loss of 1.8% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $866, with over $180M worth of Ether exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair which has a 22.3% market share of the global daily trading volume. The largest Ethereum pair was ETH/BTC with a 46.6% share.
LTC
The Litecoin price has dropped 3.19% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $210, with over $140M worth of LTC exchanged in the past 24 hours on the LTC/USD pair which has a 27% market share of the global daily trading volume. The largest Litecon pair was LTC/BTC with a 35.7% share.
ETC
The Ethereum Classic price has dropped 6.36% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $33.7, with more than $39M worth of ETC exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETC/USD pair which has a 12.4% market share of the global daily trading volume.
