The meme-based Shiba Inu (SHIB) project, which operates on the Ethereum blockchain, has been working on solving Ethereum’s limitations, including slow transaction speeds and high costs. This solution is Shibarium, a layer two blockchain, and it’s gearing up for its mainnet launch.

Shytoshi Kusama, the pseudonymous lead developer of the Shiba Inu project, shared insights on the progress of Shibarium and the upcoming plans for its launch in a blog post published on 6 July 2023, in which he provided a detailed overview of the Shiba Inu project and its unique ecosystem. He called this part one of Shibarium’s “Worldpaper”, which he said would be incrementally released.

A paper this big can be daunting, so instead of publishing it as a large paper first, I decided to break it up into smaller blog posts. These posts will be published through ‘Summer in Shibarium’ and the first post will be published today in Japanese for this wonderful fellow. This is the day we honor as Shibapendence Day. The final paper will be published in full on a special date described below.

According to Kusama, Shibarium has been developed to address the limitations of the Ethereum blockchain. As a layer two solution, Shibarium aims to provide faster transaction speeds and lower costs, making it a more efficient and user-friendly platform for the Shiba Inu community.

The mainnet launch of Shibarium is a highly anticipated event in the Shiba Inu project timeline. While Kusama did not provide a specific date for the launch, he hinted at a significant event in August that could potentially coincide with the mainnet launch. The Shiba Inu project is the title sponsor of the Blockchain Futurist Conference, Eth Toronto, and Eth Women, which are set to take place in Toronto in August. Kusama mentioned that the completed Worldpaper would be exhibited at this event, and it is highly likely that further details about the launch of Shibarium will be discussed.

In addition to the launch of Shibarium, the event will also see the unveiling of various Shiba Inu-themed products, platforms, and services. Kusama also mentioned that all projects that have indicated their willingness to build with Shibarium Tech at the conference will be on display.

The launch of Shibarium on the mainnet is a significant milestone for the Shiba Inu project. It not only showcases the project’s technical prowess but also its commitment to providing a better user experience for its community. The anticipation surrounding the launch is a testament to the growing influence of Shiba Inu in the crypto space.
