Perhaps as a sign of the rapidly growing popularity of Shiba Inu ($SHIB) token, Coinbase has made an interesting change to the title of the Android version of the Coinbase Consumer app on the Google Play Store.

What has happened is that this app, which used to have DOGE as part of its name/title now has SHIB instead. This change seems to have been first reported by Twitter user “Shiba Updates” (@ShibaUpdates) on October 19:

On June 15, Coinbase announced that $SHIB would soon be listed on Coinbase Pro, its trading platform for experienced and professional traders.

This is how Coinbase described the SHIBA token:

Shiba Inu (SHIB) is a token that aspires to be an Ethereum-based alternative to Dogecoin (DOGE), the popular memecoin. Unlike Bitcoin, which is designed to be scarce, SHIB is intentionally abundant — with a circulating supply of one quadrillion. The Shiba Inu Token ecosystem supports projects such as an NFT art incubator and the development of a decentralized exchange called Shibaswap.

Then on September 16, Coinbase announced that $SHIB had become available on Coinbase Consumer (Coinbase.com), its platform for retail investors/traders, and in the Coinbase Android and iOS apps.
