On Tuesday (September 29), Sensorium Corporation, the company behind social VR platform Sensorium Galaxy, which is backed by Jay-Z’s music streaming service TIDAL, announced that it had signed a deal with French DJ and music producer David Guetta.

Sensorium Corporation, which was founded by Forbes-listed Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorovin in 2018, is “a technology company digitally recreating globally-recognized concert venues, clubs and popular festivals as well as own fully immersive, virtual worlds.”

The aim was “to implement a project that forms the social environment of the future based on the synthesis of modern practices of various industries (gaming industry, show business, cinema and social networks), embodied in an innovative product — Sensorium Galaxy.”

On August 26, hi-def music streaming service TIDAL, which is owned by artists such as JAY-Z, Lil Wayne, Rihanna, Calvin Harris, Daft Punk and Coldplay’s Chris Martin, announced “the completion of a purchase of $7 million USD in tokens issued by Sensorium Corporation  (‘SENSO Tokens’).”

SENSO is the “in-platform currency of Sensorium Galaxy. Sensorium expects “to attract over 1.8 million users by the end of 2022 paying for any activities exclusively in SENSO tokens.”

Sensorium Galaxy users can use the SENSO token to make their avatar “stand out with add-ons and special visual effects”, to access “unique activities” (such as meet-and-greets with celebrities), and to buy “tickets to live shows of world-famous artists”.

SENSO, which is an Ethereum token (ERC-20) is already listed on four crypto exchange: Bittrex Global, KuCoin, Bitcoin.com Exchange, and HitBTC. SENSO is currently trading around $0.236147, up 3% in the past 24-hour period.

According to Sensorium’s press release, “VR experts of the Sensorium Galaxy team will be working alongside Guetta to create an accurate virtual representation of him to be used in multiple performances prepared exclusively for Sensorium users.”

French DJ David Guetta had this to say about the new partnership:

“Sensorium Galaxy is going to take dance music and events to the next level so I’m really excited to come aboard! Whilst digital events have come a long way in the last months, I’ve not seen anything that comes anywhere near close to this.

“VR lets us create a new form of art. It’s a next-level experience that goes way beyond just watching a DJ show on a screen. The shows that I am preparing for Sensorium will be the first step in a series of amazing projects we will release next year.

“I believe this platform can change the entertainment industry and the way artists communicate with fans forever – prepare to have your minds blown!”

Sensorium Galaxy’s public release is scheduled for the first half of next year. Sensorium says that “whether it is by wearing a VR headset, using PCs or simply tuning in for streaming with their Macs or mobile devices, users from all over the world will be able to experience the intensity of world-class shows in Sensorium Galaxy.”
