On Monday (December 2), Japanese crypto exchange bitFlyer, Inc. (“bitFlyer”) announced trading support for XRP.

The Tokyo-based cryptocurrency exchange, which was founded in 2014, claims to be the largest virtual currency exchange in Japan by Bitcoin trading volume.

The press release issued by bitFlyer says that the exchange launched trading support for XRP, which it says “boasts Japan’s second-largest domestic trade volume after Bitcoin”, on its Altcoin Market earlier today.

Users of bitFlyer in Japan can trade XRP either via the exchange’s website or through its mobile app (for iOS and Android).

Also, to celebrate the fact that XRP is the first cryptocurrency added to the exchange in almost two years, bitFlyer is running a promotional campaign from today until midnight on December 26: 10 lucky bitFlyer customers who trade at least $50 in XRP during this period will be chosen by lottery to win 100,000 Japanese yen.

Finally, it is interesting to note that bitFlyer is the only crypto exchange that is licensed to operate in Japan, the European Union, and the United States.
