The Hurun Institute, which is a research, media and investment firm, has published the latest iteration of the “world’s largest wealth list,” featuring 12 members of the cryptocurrency industry. 

According to the report, Hurun teamed up with Lexus to compile the twenty-first edition of the ranking, which has made an annual appearance every year since 1999. Individuals were required to have a calculated net worth of 2 billion yuan ($282 million) in order to make it on the list. 

 Hu Run, chairman and chief researcher at Hurun Report, commented upon the diversity of the list which features a number of crypto entrepreneurs, 

The 21-year history of Chinese companies and wealth development is not only meaningful to Chinese companies, but also of Hurun's richest…We will see many innovative business models and new listed entrepreneurs emerge.

Crypto mining hardware manufacturer Bitmain’s co-founders Micree Zhan and Jihan Wu both made the list. Zhan, in particular, ranked as the 100th richest man in China according to the report, with a net worth of over 30 billion Chinese yuan ($4.2 billion).

Crypto exchanges were also well represented, with Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, OKCoin founder Star Xu and Leon Li of Huobi all making the cutoff. Zhao ranked 195th, with a net worth of 18 billion yuan ($2.5 billion).
