If you have always wanted to buy a church with Bitcoin (BTC), a former church in England that is has been converted to a seven-bedroom house might be your best.

Rightmove, one of the leading real estate portals in the UK, currently has a listing for a “7 Bedroom Character Property” that is for sale for (a guide price of) GBP 1.2 million (which is, approximately, $1.56 million at the time of writing).

The location is Middleton One Row, an affluent village in County Durham, which is a county in North East England.

The Grade II listed building was formerly St Laurence’s Church, a parish church dating back to 1871. According to a report in local media outlet The Northern Echo, St Laurence’s Church was officially closed in June 2012 by the Church Commissioners on the basis that the building had structural problems that would cost too much to fix.

Finest Properties, the real estate agency marketing this home, describes it as “a wonderfully attractive property with a wealth of original features both inside and out.”

The seller has indicated that he is happy to accept Bitcoin as the method of payment (the exact amount of BTC depends, of course, on the final sale price and the Bitcoin price at the time of the sale).
