Cryptocurrency exchange OKCoin has pledged to donate up to 1,000 BTC, worth $10.7 billion, to developers of bitcoin, bitcoin cash and bitcoin SV.

According to the promotional page, which OKCoin is characterizing as “Let’s Build Bitcoin Together,” the exchange is planning to donate BTC on behalf of votes cast by members of the community. OKCoin is asking for users to vote on projects related to bitcoin and will send 0.02 BTC (worth over $200) to the developers as a reward for their support.

The release states, 

“We pledge to donate up to 1,000 BTC to the hard-working developers of Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Bitcoin Satoshi’s Vision, but we need YOU to get involved.Vote for the project that YOU’d like us to send a donation to, and we will send 0.02 BTC on your behalf! Now show your support!”

OKCoin has highlighted eleven developers from projects for donation, including Luke Dashjr, Ben Woosley and Michael Ford. Bitcoin Association and Bitcoin Unlimited are some of the development projects for donation tied to BSV and BCH, respectively. 

OKCoin has also provided a timeline for the development of bitcoin and its closely related forked currencies for users who wish to learn more about the history of the original cryptocurrency.

Users must first create an OKCoin account and deposit a minimum of 100 USD or EUR, in addition to depositing or purchasing the equivalent of $100 in crypto to be eligible for casting a vote. The voting process will conclude on Sept. 27 at 9pm (PT), and donations will be distributed by Oct. 11, 2019.
