Please support CryptoGlobe and Brave by trying out the latest version of the Brave Browser for Desktop.

The latest release of the Brave Browser for Desktop lets you tip content your favorite content creators on Reddit and Vimeo with Basic Attention Token (BAT).

Basic Attention Token is “a utility token based on the Ethereum technology that can also be used as a unit of account between advertisers, publishers, and users in a new, blockchain-based digital advertising and services platform.”

Here is how Brave Software, the maker of Brave browser, announced the news on Twitter:

Until this version came along, it was already possible to tip content creators on Twitter, YouTube, and Twitch with BAT.

Now, when a user goes to the Reddit website or the Vimeo website with the Brave desktop browser, if they have enabled Brave Rewards, they should see a “Tip” button now on each post. If they click on this button, they will be able to send some amount of BAT directly to that content creator.

Brave Software has this to say about tipping content creators on these five social media platforms:

When you tip a verified content creator, your tip is sent instantly to that creator’s Brave Rewards account. If you tip a creator who has not yet verified, your tip will be held locally in your browser until that creator verifies with creators.brave.com. If they verify within 90 days, your tip will be transferred. If not, then it is returned to your Brave Rewards wallet.
