Los Angeles Chargers’ Offensive Tackle Russell Okung still appears in love with Bitcoin (BTC) despite (or perhaps, because of) the flagship cryptocurrency’s price volatility, and seems intent on making sure the entire league knows about Bitcoin.
On May 14, 31-year-old Russell Okung, who has been a left tackle for the past two seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers (a professional American football team competing in the AFC West division of the National Football League), became the first NFL player to say that he would like his salary to be paid in Bitcoin (BTC):
Pay me in Bitcoin.

One of the people who replied to this tweet was none other than 28-year-old Matt Barkley, a quarterback for the NFL team Buffalo Bills, who revealed that he also wanted the same thing:
I tried

These tweets prompted Anthony Polpliano (aka “Pomp”), a Founding Partner at Morgan Creek Digital Assets, to compliment both players for their awareness of and their interest in Bitcoin:
You two are studs for pushing Bitcoin into the mainstream adoption 🙏🏽

Three days later, the NFL star expressed his feelings for Bitcoin via the following tweet:
Bitcoin has changed the way I look at the world. https://t.co/zpzXZWPqTH

Well, on Wednesday (July 24), Okung was back on Twitter, once again promoting Bitcoin:
First @NFL training camp conversation: Bitcoin. 🤷🏾♂️

Saifedean Ammous, author of The Bitcoin Standard, said that he was willing to help Okung educate his fellow Chargers’ teammates on the virtues of Bitcoin:
I'm happy to hop on a plane and join the team talk if you want a ringer to handle the nocoiners, Russ!
