Jameson Lopp, the Cypherpunk CTO of Casa, did an “Impromptu AMA” on Wednesday (July 24) on Twitter.

This is how the Casa CTO invited his followers to ask him questions via Twitter:

The following were some of the most interesting questions that were asked during this “Ask Me Anything” session:

Q: “top 3 possibilities for bitcoin to die?”

A: “Apathy. Something that’s 10X better being invented. Global thermonuclear war”

Q: “favorite piece of bitcoin hardware that’s not made by casa?”

A: “I use my Ledger Blue the most often – darn shame they gave up on improving it.”

Q: “best twitter-length elevator pitch for nocoiners?”

A: “The concept and function of money belongs to humanity as a whole; it should operate as a transparent open project.”

Q: “Most promising scaling ‘solution’? (hate the word)”

A: “HODLing”

Q: “Which lightning UI solutions do you like other than Casa’s?”

A: “Big fan of RTL and Lightning Labs’ app.”

Q: “What’s the most exciting Bitcoin upgrade proposal at the moment in your mind?”

A: “Big fan of MAST and how it can be used in conjunction with multisig vaults and inheritance planning.”

Q: “What is the best model for exchanges to operate (p2p, centralized, futures, options)? What do they need to change?”

A: “I think p2p is the safest, though of course it poses many challenges if you’re trying to operate at high volume. Basically, exchanges need to figure out how to operate order books without custodying assets.”

Q: “your thoughts on best practices for safely storing hardware wallet recovery passphrase?”

A: “Avoid having to in the first place by using @CasaHODL. Otherwise, I prefer storing secrets in encrypted veracrypt containers and using SSS to split the decryption passphrase amongst trustworthy parties.”
