It seems like Hrvatska Pošta (“Croatian Post”) has decided to run a pilot program that allows holders of BTC, ETH, XRP, EOS, and XLM to exchange them for cash at branches of the post office throughout the country.
The photo above is of Zadar, the “oldest continuously-inhabited Croatian city” and the “fifth-largest city in the country.” According to Wikipedia, Zadar’s land area “traces its earliest evidence of human life from the late Stone Age.” Knowing all of this makes the announcement made by Croatia Post on Wednesday (July 24) even more interesting.
Croatia Post says that since July 15 it has been conducting a pilot project, in partnership with Zagreb-based cryptocurrency exchange and payment processor Electrocoin, at three of Zadar’s post offices. This allows domestic and foreign crypto holders to change their crypto—currently, Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), XRP, EOS, and Stellar Lumen (XLM)—to the local currency, the Croatian Kuna (HRK), via a few easy steps.
It also says that it plans to roll out this service to all major cities and tourist centers in Croatia.
