Support CryptoGlobe and Brave by trying out the Brave browser.
Brave, the cryptocurrency-powered blockchain web browser, has expanded its Brave Ads rewards system to users on Android devices.
Brave Rewards, which rewards users who opt-in to see ads on the platform in Basic Attention Tokens (BAT), is now available on the Google-developed operating system. Previously the feature was only available on desktop browsers.
A user of the Brave Ads feature posted on Reddit on Thursday morning: "My first Android advert!!" In the post, the user included a picture of a Brave browser ad notification on his smartphone, showing the community how the ad system works on mobile devices.
Brave Ads Development
The Brave Ads product was released in April this year and users who opt-in to see ads on its browser get 70% of the revenue from these units. Eich estimates that users can earn around $5 a month in BAT. Currently, the ads are showing up or users in select countries - including the UK, US, Germany, and Canada - although a worldwide rollout is set to come in the future.
The Basic Attention Token was designed by Brave as a conduit for blockchain browser-based advertising and can be exchanged between publishers, advertisers and users and is transacted on the Ethereum blockchain.
Tokens users earn can be stored or shared with other websites depending on the attention they give them. It's currently impossible to wthdraw earned BAT from the browser's built-in wallet, although such a feature is also set to be added.
