The European subsidiary of Japan-based cryptocurrency exchange BitFlyer announced a new service (called “Buy / Sell”) on Tuesday (July 30) that makes it “simple” for people residing in the European Union to buy/sell Bitcoin with euros.

Until today, according to the press release shared with CryptoGlobe, the “bitFlyer Europe” website used to only a Bitcoin trading service — called “bitFlyer Lightning” — that “acted as a BTC/EUR marketplace between traders”:

In contrast, the interface for the new “Buy / Sell Bitcoin” service is much simpler to understand:

The “Buy / Sell” service allows users to buy and sell “directly with bitFlyer” up to a maximum of 20 BTC per transaction.

Once you have signed up with your email address, before you can trade, you need to provide bitFlyer with some personal information (such as name, date of birth, nationality, place of birth, address, mobile phone number, and identity document number) so that bitFlyer can go through its Know Your Customer (KYC) process.

Andy Bryant, Co-lead and COO of bitFlyer Europe, had this to say:

bitFlyer Buy/Sell is a virtual currency exchange for everyone – with simple two-click buy and sell capability. Not only is bitFlyer Buy/Sell easy to use, but with us users have the confidence that they are using a trusted, regulated platform with long-standing global heritage.

BitFlyer says that it is “the only cryptocurrency exchange to be licenced in Japan, the US and Europe combined, and has also recently been recognised as one of only 10 exchanges that isn’t faking trading volumes.”
