On Friday (March 29), Singapore-based cryptocurrency exchange Bitrue delighted the XRP community with the addition of yet another XRP-based trading pair: BNB/XRP. BNB’s listing on Bitrue came with two other trading pairs: BNB/BTC and BNB/USDT.

This move came just two days after Bitrue had added four new XRP-based pairs: ZIL/XRP; IOST/XRP; GNT/XRP; and ICX/XRP. Since Bitrue already had 35 XRP-based pairs prior to today’s announcement, this means that it now offers a total of 36 XRP-based trading pairs.

Bitrue, which was founded in 2018, has quickly become a favorite with members of the XRP community because of the high degree of enthusiasm, support, and transparency shown by its management towards XRP. What is interesting about Bitrue is that it supported XRP as a base currency on the day that its trading platform was launched (19 July 2018).

The addition of support for Binance Coin (BNB) is interesting because of two things:

  • Binance and Bitrue are probably the two most popular crypto exchanges with fans of XRP primarily because both of these exchanges support XRP as a base currency and they both have CEOs who are quite vocal (on Twitter) in their support for XRP. So, it would make sense for the XRP community to want a BNB/XRP trading pair on Bitrue, especially given the amazing performance and increasing popularity of BNB over the past few months.
  • It is highly unusual for one crypto exchange to offer trading support for a competing exchange’s native token/coin.

With regard to the demand for a BNB/XRP trading pair, on Tuesday, a member of the XRP community, user “Sink or Swim” (@Akasost) on Twitter, conducted a poll to find out how much interest there was for such a trading pair:

As of 06:00 UTC on March 29th, out of 334 votes, 85% had voted for the “Yes” option.

A few minutes after the above-mentioned tweet went out, Bitrue CEO Curis Wang replied with a great CZ-style reply to unofficially confirm that there was an excellent chance of a BNB/XRP pair being added to Bitrue:

2019 so far has been a great year for those members of the XRP community that use Bitrue since the exchange has been adding new XRP-based trading pairs at a rapid pace:

January 3rd: TRON TRX), Stellar (XLM), NEO, Gas (GAS), and OmiseGo (OMG).
