Crypto Exchange Bitrue Adds XRP-Based Pairs for ZIL, IOST, GNT, and ICX

On Wednesday (March 27), Singapore-headquartered cryptocurrency exchange Bitrue added XRP-based trading pairs for Zilliqa (ZIL), IOST, Golem (GNT), and ICON (ICX), which means that it now offers a total of 35 XRP-based trading pairs.

Bitrue, which was founded in 2018, has quickly become a favorite with members of the XRP community because of the high degree of enthusiasm, support, and transparency shown by its management towards XRP. What is interesting about Bitrue is that it supported XRP as a base currency on the day that its trading platform was launched (19 July 2018).

Here is how Bitrue announced today's news on Twitter:

2019 so far has been a great year for those members of the XRP community that use Bitrue since the exchange has been adding new XRP-based trading pairs at quite a rapid pace:

  • January 3rd: TRON TRX), Stellar (XLM), NEO, Gas (GAS), and OmiseGo (OMG).
  • January 4th: Bee Token (BEE).
  • January 11th: Holo (HOT), Pundi X (NPSX), district0x (DNT), and Propy (PRO).
  • January 18th: EOS, NEM (XEM), and Polymath (POLY).
  • January 28th: VeChain (VET).
  • March 15th: SHACoin (SHA).
  • March 24th: Dash (DASH), Basic Attention Token (BAT), and Storm (STORM).
  • March 27th: Zilliqa (ZIL), IOST, Golem (GNT), and ICON (ICX).

This means that Bitrue now offers a total of 35 XRP-based trading pairs:

BCH/XRP; ETC/XRP; GTO/XRP; GUSD/XRP; KNC/XRP; LINK/XRP; LTC/XRP; PAX/XRP; QKC/XRP; TUSD/XRP; WAN/XRP; WTC/XRP; ZRX/XRP; XRP/USDT;  TRX/XRP; XLM/XRP; NEO/XRP; GAS/XRP; OMG/XRP; BEE/XRP; HOT/XRP; NPXS/XRP; DNT/XRP; PRO/XRP; EOS/XRP; NEM/XRP; POLY/XRP; VET/XRP; SHA/XRP; DASH/XRP; BAT/XRP; STORM/XRP; ZIL/XRP; IOST/XRP; GNT/XRP; and ICX/XRP.

Actually, the total number of trading pairs involving XRP is 38 since Bitrue also offers XRP/BTC, XRP/ETC, and XRP/USDT.

As of press time, according to XRP Charts, Bitrue's 24-hour trading volume for XRP is $6,720,553.85 USD, or 3.1% of tital XRP traded.

Binance Establishes a Blockchain Research Institute in China

Binance Academy, the non-profit educational arm of crypto exchange Binance, which had its beta launch in August 2018, announced on Sunday (March 29) that it has established a blockchain research institute in Shanghai, China.

Binance says that Lingang Blockchain Technology and Industry Research Institute (aka "Lingang Research Institute") will be "the hub for blockchain talent, shaping for breakthroughs in blockchain technology, and accelerating the application of blockchain technology through integrations with artificial intelligence (AI), big data, the Internet of Things (IoT), and other cutting-edge technologies."

Helen Hai, who is leading this initiative, had this to say:

"Blockchain revolution will fundamentally alter the way we live, work, and relate to one another. Nevertheless, technology should work for people and it should lift humanity into a new collective and moral consciousness based sense of common destiny.

"Therefore, we must shape a future that works for all of us by putting people first and empowering them.

"In establishing the Lingang Research Institute with our local partners, Binance Academy endeavors to build a leading think tank and research hub that contributes to large-scale developments in blockchain technology to further the growth of the industry.

"Leveraging Binance’s blockchain ecosystem and industry resources, we are committed to building the blockchain industry, driving blockchain research, and cultivating top blockchain talent.” 

Don Tapscott the Canadian business executive, author, and consultant, who is the CEO of the Tapscott Group and the Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of the Blockchain Research Institute (BRI), will have the title of "Honorary Dean" at Liang Research Institute.

Tapscott said:

"Blockchain represents the second era of the Internet – the Internet of Value -- and can help us build more innovative and productive organizations. Research, education, and skill development are all critical to moving forward, and we look forward to collaborating with Lingang Blockchain Academy in helping achieve this transformation in China."
