Cryptocurrency Monero (XMR) recently saw its hashrate drop over 80%, after it upgraded its proof-of-work algorithm to resist specialized Cryptonight ASIC miners. Nine of the top 10 coins by 24-hour volume posted a negative change, ranging from 2% to 6.3%.

Huobi Token (+4.53% at $1.70) was the only coin from the top 10 that recorded a postive change. Ripple ($0.48) posted a loss of 4.21%, while both Bitcoin Cash ($636) and DASH ($298) showed a loss of around 6.3%. EOS (-2.01% at $5.84) posted the smaller loss of the top 10 coins, while Ethereum Classic ($13.50) showed a 5% loss over the last 24 hours.

More than $700 M worth of BTC were exchanged in the BTC/USD market representing a 21.8% share of the global daily volume. The biggest Bitcoin pair is the BTC/JPY pair, that represents a 58% share.
