Yesterday, The Bank of England stated that it is undertaking a new proof-of-concept to explore how its planned real-time gross settlement (RTGS) system could connect with distributed ledger networks. The statement reads:
“Although the Bank has concluded that distributed ledger technology (DLT) is not yet sufficiently mature to provide the core for the next generation of RTGS, it places a high priority on ensuring that the new service is capable of interfacing with DLT as and when it is developed in the wider sterling markets.”

The cryptocurrency market has been showing a lack of volume and momentum over the past few days. Major cryptocurrencies are still showing difficulties recovering from the recent big correction, with Bitcoin and Ethereum showing 24-hour negative changes.
Tronix ($0.045) posted a gain of 5.18% over the last 24 hours, while Ripple ($0.57) showed a smaller gain of 0.82%. Bitcoin Cash ($884) recorded a loss of 2.97%, while both Ethereum Classic ($16.33) and NEO ($57.67) posted gains of around 3.4%.
BTC
At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is sitting at $7,916 representing a loss of 0.39% in the last 24 hours. More than $740 M worth of BTC were exchanged in the BTC/USD market representing a 20.5% share of the global daily volume. The biggest Bitcoin pair is the BTC/JPY pair, that represents a 57.7% share.
ETH
The Ethereum price posted a loss of 2.35% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $454, with over $260M worth of Ether exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair, the biggest Ethereum pair, which has a 34% market share of the daily trading volume.
EOS
At the time of writing, the EOS price is sitting at $6.21 representing a gain of 12.30% in the last 24 hours. More than $90 M worth of EOS were exchanged in the EOS/USD market representing a 19% share of global daily volume. Notably the volume spiked around 15:00 causing the price to rise from $5.6 to $6.4 in just over an hour. The price has hovered around $6 since then and has closed above it.
LTC
The Litecoin price has dropped 4.5% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $135, with more than $80 M worth of LTC exchanged in the past 24 hours on the LTC/USD pair, the largest Litecoin pair, which has a 34% market share of the global daily trading volume.
