The South Korean Financial Services Commission (FSC) has announced plans to encourage the use of blockchain technology in new payment systems in order to better protect user information.The FSC will introduce new regulations to open the doors for banks and insurance companies to protect customer data and simplify verification processes with blockchain solutions. The FSC Chairman, Choi Jong-ku, said that this new blockchain-friendly approach to its fintech policies could give the local jobs market a boost:
“The players in the financial service market are becoming more diverse, with new companies entering, and the competition in the financial market is becoming fiercer. Fintech is an area that requires new technologies, and it will solve the youth job problem by increasing job positions for young people.”
Top 10
All coins from the top 10 coins by 24-hour volume posted a positive change, ranging from 3% to 19%, in the last 24 hours. Ethereum Classic (+13.7% at $20.63), Tronix (+18.8% at $0.037) and NEO (+10.2% at $74) were the coins that showed the biggest gains in the last 24 hours.
Bitcoin Cash ($1,038) and QTUM ($20) recorded gain of around 7%, while EOS ($5.96) showed a 9.36% gain, with a total volume of $214 M.
BTC
At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is sitting at $8,969 representing a gain of 7% in the last 24 hours. More than $1.1 B worth of BTC were exchanged in the BTC/USD market representing a 24% share of the global daily volume. The BTC/JPY pair represents a 50% share.
ETH
The Ethereum price posted a gain of 9.83% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $572, with over $300M worth of Ether exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair, the largest Ethereum pair, which has a 32% market share of the daily trading volume.
XRP
At the time of writing, the Ripple price is sitting at $0.68 representing a gain of 3.38% in the last 24 hours. More than $80 M worth of XRP were exchanged in the XRP/USD market representing a 19% share of global daily volume. The XRP/KRW pair represents the biggest pair with a 45% share.
LTC
The Litecoin price has risen 8.79% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $171, with more than $110M worth of LTC exchanged in the past 24 hours on the LTC/USD pair, the largest Litecoin pair, which has a 33% market share of the global daily trading volume.
