US President, Donald Trump, signed an order on Monday banning US residents from engaging in any transaction related to Venezuela’s “Petro” cryptocurrency. The order makes it illegal for US citizens and residents to transact with the Petro or any other cryptocurrencies later issued by Venezuela.

Almost every coin from the top 10 coins by 24-hour volume posted a positive change, ranging from 1.3% to 22%, in the last 24 hours. Ethereum (-2% at $516) was the only coin from the top 10 that showed a loss in the last 24 hours.
Bitcoin Cash ($954) showed a gain of 3.35% in the last 24 hours, while Ethereum Classic ($17.8) and Tronix ($0.03) posted gains of 6.17% and 4.49% respectively. EOS ($5.34) and QTUM ($18.51) recorded the biggest gains, in the last 24 hours, of 15.58% and 22%. NEO posted a gain of 2.86% and is currently sitting at $66 with a total volume of $164M.

The Ethereum price posted a loss of 2.03% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $516, with over $390 M worth of Ether exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair, the largest Ethereum pair, which has a 35.5% market share of the global daily trading volume.
