The MVIS CryptoCompare top 100 index has risen 6.44% in the last 24 hours to 4,974.54.
Payment and fintech company Circle has announced that it has purchased Poloniex, one of the top 15 cryptocurrency exchanges by volume. Rumors of the acquisition had been circulating for weeks, and were finally confirmed yesterday in press releases issued by both parties.
A CryptoGlobe source says that the acquisition price is around the $400 million mark which would place it as the largest acquisition in the crypto space to date.
Yves Mersch, an executive board member of the European Central Bank (ECB) said the organization is preparing a new settlement system named Target Instant Payment Settlement, or TIPS, for its November debut, according to Bloomberg.
TIPS is a product for the purpose of offering real-time payment transactions to disrupt the disruptor – blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.
Top 10
Almost every coin in the top 10 coins by 24 hour volume has showed a positive change, ranging from 2.3 to 26.5%, in the last 24 hours. The only top 10 coin that posted a loss was Litecoin (-3.49%), and is currently sitting at $217.
Nano ($15) posted the biggest gain of 26.5%, while NEO ($138) and Huobi Token ($2.53) showed a positive change of 15% and 11.4% respectively.
Bitcoin Cash ($1,269) recorded a gain of 8.53% and had a total volume of $315M in the last 24 hours. Both Ripple ($0.94) and Tronix ($0.04) showed gains of around 5%.
BTC
At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is sitting at $10,668 representing a gain of 9.81% in the last 24 hours. More than $1.3B worth of BTC were exchanged in the BTC/USD market representing a 24% share of global daily volume. The BTC/JPY pair represents the biggest pair with a 49.3% share.
LTC
The Litecoin price has dropped 3.49% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $217, with over $200M worth of LTC exchanged in the past 24 hours on the LTC/USD pair which has a 29.7% market share of the global daily trading volume. The largest Litecon pair was LTC/BTC with a 32.4% share.
ETH
The Ethereum price posted a gain of 2.38% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $879, with over $258M worth of Ether exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair which has a 26.3% market share of the global daily trading volume. The largest Ethereum pair was ETH/BTC with a 41.7% share.
ETC
The Ethereum Classic price has risen 4.11% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $35.75, with more than $47M worth of ETC exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETC/USD pair which has a 12.4% market share of the global daily trading volume. The largest Ethereum Classic pair is ETC/BTC with a 37.7% share.
